I spent all four years of high school counting down the days until I would go to an art college in New York City. Due to scholarships I ended up at Pratt. I tried to be positive about Pratt, I even joined several clubs, but after two years I couldn't deal with the school anymore. The neighborhood is very unsafe and unfriendly. Alot of the students aren't that talented and are simply there because they can afford the 30,000\( tution - which brings me to another point, for that much I expect a lot more than Pratt provides. I had to deal with stupid and unfriendly staff, Broken drafting tables (which makes keeping up in a 3,000\) class annoyingly difficult), horrible food service and I constantly questioned where the money was going. On the upside the professors- within your selected major- are very good and supportive, also being in NYC has endless oppourtunities BUT these are things you can get at schools like Parsons, SVA and FIT (save some $!) |
