Statistical Analyzer:

Trinity Western can have considerable appeal to students looking for a friendly and beautiful environment. I chose Trinity primarily because of location, religious affiliation, and tuition cost. For a private Christian liberal arts school, the cost is considerably less than American schools. As an American, I found studying in Canada to be an interesting and valuable experience. BC is absolutely beautiful: take a ferry to Vancouver Island, check out downtown Vancouver, drive two hours to Whistler/Blackcomb (students get a great deal on season passes)…endless outdoor recreation opportunities. Trinity is definately an Evangelical environment, as there are many student clubs/organizations focused on church-related ministries, and all-campus chapels are held in the gym every day (optional attendance).

In response to previous comments from a religious studies major regarding a closed-mindedness from students/faculty and difficulty in receiving recognition for the degree, I did not experience these things. My Biblical Studies professors were critical thinkers and encouraged me to think critically, and I got into my top-choice doctorate program in the US. My roommate went on to medical school, and students in the MA biblical studies program went on to doctorate studies at schools such as Notre Dame and Duke; thus, recognition of a Trinity degree was not an issue from my perspective. You won't find the greatest facilities, although the campus has lots of nice landscaping. The faculty challenged me and made themselves available on both professional and personal levels.
