First off, I loved this school the faculty was great helpful, personable. I attended here 4 semesters. All of the sudden when I registered for Fall classes, I received an email from the President of the school stating that their was to be a name change to "not offend foreign students. Being the proud Southern Christian man that I am, I withdrew from this school. I felt it was an act of political correctness at its worst. The board of regents made this decision behind close doors without any input from any one. I found this to be an act of arrogance on the president and board of regents part. I spoke with some other student who withdrew as well and a few faculty members, all felt they were bullied to accept this name change. Today, I attend Dallas Baptist University. The new name of Southern Christian is Regions University. The name change has affected them to the point they are calling my house and trying to recruit me back because they are having record low enrollment. Hum, I wonder why? Just because a person has a PhD or Masters doesn't mean they know it all. Maybe they will wizen up and start listening to their faculty and students instead of fulfilling their propaganda. I surprised I couldn't find any negative feedback. I wonder why I haven't seen any negative feedback on this school since the name change last year? |
