I flight instructed for a year. I was then hired by ExpressJet in late 2003. I was recently hired by jetBlue as a first officer. I was able to attain this job as a result of making great friends while in school. My biggest advice is to make connections! ERAU is great for that. You WILL NEED THEM if you want to advance quickly. I must say that the flight department needs work. As I understand it, the quality has only gone downhill since I had been there. I majored in Aeronautical Science (AS). In contrast, I would have majored in ASP and had done flight training elsewhere (most likely NorthAire and SkySchool). The airlines do not care where you do your flight training at!What I dislked most about the school was the professionalism that much of the flight instructor staff exhibited. Many were solely employed to gain hours and take students "to the cleaners."On the otherhand, the Aeronautical Science Department is top-notch! I particularly remember Professors Cone and Draut as conducting the best classes! There are many others in the department who are great.Humanities department was also great. Math and physics… not so much (hopefully they've changed professors for those classes).In summary, consider whether or not you want to fly at Riddle. The program is not for everyone. It wasn't for me either, but I stuck it out (at a great price).However, whether AS or ASP, the quality is dependent on what you get out of it. For example, my friend who walked my resume into jetBlue was an ASP major who flight instructed all throughout his four years. He did not do flight training at Riddle.The remainder of my friends studied AS (Aeronautical Science). All of them currently fly for the regional airlines (4 at ExpressJet, 1 at American Eagle, 1 at SkyWest). One has quit from ExpressJet due to medical reasons. He know longer flies (take care of you health and hold on to that medical!).The Aerospace Engineering program is also great. All of my closest Engineering friends have attained positions at Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Bell/Textron, and one at NASA.Take care! And fly Safe!AND NETWORK! MAKE FRIENDS!
