They mislead everyone explaining to them that they are "artists" by virtue of being accepted. Your dollars are more important to them than your valid complaints about access, policy and the amount of time wasted in classrooms. The review process is extremely flawed—conducted by random teachers who dont know your work. The year I was there there was some controversy as people failed there reviews after receiving high marks in all their classes. There is no appeal process nor an explanation of what they are looking for—and personal motives play into the process heavily. Basically it's illegal as you should be provided with a contract if you're paying all that money. Some great teachers in the new genres dept. A certain female film teacher is truly evil and has screwed over many a good teacher's livelihoods and students in her relentless pursuit of micromanaging to make up for her failed career as an artist. Do not take her class—especially if you are female—her only objective is to destroy you and make herself feel better. |
