I originally went to the Tepper School at Carnegie Mellon but I didn't really like Pittsburgh so I came to Temple. It's the city school for my area and I know plenty of people who go there. Scholastically I've been pretty unimpressed. I think that the curriculum isn't all that intense. I'd like to see that taken care of. Otherwise, Temple is trying to make a name for itself so there is a ton of building going on. Over the next 5-10 years, don't be surprised to see Temple's name become nationally (and possibly internationally) renowned. It's on the "up and up" so a degree from Temple will have a lot more pull than one might expect. Also, expect it to get harder and harder to get into Temple. Now the really negative stuff: Don't step foot of campus, don't expect to get special treatment, and don't expect the much from the administration. The bureaucracy at Temple is worse than the US government. Everything is a form. Look into the Honors program if you want a more caring and supportive staff. Overall Temple has both good and bad points but it's getting better every year. |
