As a working parent with a lot of hours at numerous colleges around the country, it took 3 years of nights and weekends to complete the BSCS at the Troy-Florida Region Eglin AFB campus. I was hesitant at first to choose Troy with so many other options but I'm glad I did. I only had one class/prof. I wouldn't recommend. The others ranged from good to excellent. One of the best points I believe I can tell a reader of this review is that the time it took to complete assignments was appropriate, i.e. just right. That was a HUGE concern prior to enrolling and I'm sure there are a lot of folks out there in the same boat. That is, working 50+ hours a week along with family obligations doesn't leave a lot of spare time. The assignments were on target for learning the material and yes you have to right a paper in every class.Having attended so many universities, getting transcripts sent elsewhere can be a nightmare. Troy is one of only a few I can count on to get my transcript out promptly. As far as prestige, I'd say it's neutral around here. Some of the grads at the nearby UWF like to think they graduated at an Ivy League school. But having taken over 21 hours at UWF I can say that's not the case. Anyway, now that I'm living and working in N. California, no one's heard of either school. |
