MANY graduate schools require that you have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution in order to grant you a grad degree, because this is considered a minimal standard. I was denied entry into several schools for this reason. TTU administrators do not seem serious about obtaining this basic credential. It is irrepsonsible not to inform potential students about this situation. While I did get a Christian worldview centered edcuation, and made contacts that helped launch my career, I probably could have gotten the same or better quality education at say Cedarville College, Liberty University or any of the Southern Baptist Schools, most of which are regionally accredited. A much greater empahasis should be placed on growing and improving academic programs. By the way, the campus is crumbling because it was not given a high enough priority, partly becasue the church and school are joined financially. "Excellence" should also be a part of any "Distictively Christian", as the motto goes, education. |
