Beloit is an ugly college that's for damn sure but the thing is by your Sophmore year your pretty much over how much it just seems like alcohol drenched summer camp for freaks and geeks cos your probably more engrossed in your courses which are fairly good (small, friendly and open faculty, etc.). It can get easy to get caught up in the poor excuse of a social scene given the lackluster town close by, which for most students leads to excessive drinking but the thing is Beloit's "philosphy" in retrospect saved my ass cos your dealing with your bullshit and sewing your wild oats in what is essentially a very safe little bubble.

They give you the freedom to choose your own adventure academically with special projects, etc and with your behaviour and honestly if you do really screw up they deal with you on an individual, personable basis to try to help you *as a developing, growing young adult* change and modify said behavior.

After having left Beloit for the real world any reunion with fellow Beloit'ers helps me realize one reason why I may have drank so much, they're fucking weird and out of touch cos really they're mostly a bunch of overprivaleged upper middle class kids from the Chicago area who were the biggest dorks in high school but get the rule the school here which makes for a very odd dynamic that you may not even realize you were endrenched in till you leave.

It'll test your sanity and you will leave there smarter if you choose and cloistered around bunch of other dungeons and dragons, herpes carrying freaks if you choose that route too.

End all be all, Beloit is a choose your own adventure college. Choose wisely.
