The hallways in the main building 150 always smell like urine from the bathrooms. It was so discusting. Many teachers were good musicians but didn't have a clue how to teach! Some didn't even have degrees! The piano teachers didn't understand how to teach "technique." They knew how to hit the right chords but they had no clue how to teach the pianist any technical skills on the piano…After two and a half years at Berklee, I had to study with a student at Berklee from Korea to teach me piano technique (classically trained of course) What I learned from her I will take with me the rest of my life. She had to reteach me of course because the piano teachers at Berklee are clueless as how to teach technique and taught me how to play with my fingers only and did not incorporate any wrist or arm movement! Almost every single piano student at Berklee ends up with tendinitis at least one point during there years at Berklee and of course this tendinitis will reappear later on in there life as it never goes away 100%Berklee College is money hungry. I am soooo indebt from going there that I had a nervous breakdown.. I had to drop out and get a job 50 hours a week and I still will never pay my debt…Over 100,000 for just 5 semesters!! I am now sick from going to Berklee.I used to cry in the financial aid office but they told meIt's not a lot of money! They never helped me. They just wanted more of my money. You don't need any skill to get into Berklee..most students have only two or less years of playing there insrtuments before going there. It's not like Julliard where there is true talent. Berklee musicians just pund away on there instruments and you always have headaches. There are only a few truly gifted musicians there.Berklee will accept you…especially if you are paying cash… |
