People automatically assume acting is an easy option, do not be fooled. You might not have to be prepared to major in english and history for this course but there is a lot of academic work and research to be done. Character research is fun but there is a lot more to it than just that. The hours seem short at first but remember for every hour you put in your probably spending (at least) that amount of time again rehearsing etc. The further you get into the course the more emotionally drained you are. Originally I used to hate being told to go get more life experience before attending drama school but now I'm glad I was warned. Make sure you really want this and have good support before you come to this school. It will do incredible things for you but be prepared - your training for a job in a very competitive industry not just to get up and make your friends laugh. |
