I graduated from Bentley almost 10 years ago and it looks like the school hasn't changed that much. I thought that it might be helpful to write a review sharing my perspective on the my 4 years at Bentley and the 10 years since I graduated.

During College:

Pros:

  • Great overall college experience.
  • Enjoyed playing Div II athletics.
  • Made the best friends of my life and met a ton of great people.
  • Enjoyed the small class sizes and easy access to professors. They keep you focused and prevent you from getting lost in the shuffle.
  • Great Career Services program, I had six job interviews on campus and 4 offers.
  • Good local internship opportunities.
  • Nice private campus with easy access to Boston.
  • If you want to be successful and learn about business, Bentley will provide you all the opportunities you need. That's the advantage of going to a Business speciality school.
  • Cons:

  • There are four social groups at Bentley - Athletes, Greeks, International Students and Everyone else. If you want a decent social life you need to get involved in some kind of group. Most of the Bentley parties are in small apartments. Girls get in, but if you're a guy and you don't know the people running the party - good luck.
  • If you are not interested in business or technology, Bentley is not the place for you. It would have been nice to have a greater variety of people on campus (Bentley is all business majors). However, Bentley has started to offer more majors which helps to attract different types of students.
  • After Graduation Perceptions:

  • Bentley has a great name in the Northeast. People are impressed with Bentley graduates and respect the school.
  • All my friends have great jobs and a great professional network of Bentely alumni.
  • I sometimes wonder what it would have been like going to school farther from home (I'm from MA) or a bigger school with more school spirit, diversity and Div 1 athletics.
  • I work with a lot of people who went to less expensive public schools like UMass or UNH who also got a great education for 1/2 the price. I got my MBA from UMass Amherst and felt that the quality of professors was very similar.
