I was a music major at Cornerstone for three and a half years, and graduated with a 3.6 GPA.

I'd say the majority of the faculty in that department are severely out of touch with their field, and frighteningly uninterested in their students. My last two years there was a new chair appointed in the music department, and she was very condescending and unprofessional. I had high hopes because the previous chair was such an inspiring individual.

The music department at this school is severely underfunded and if you are interested in the Contemporary Christian Music degree, be aware that the department doesn't even have adequate resources for the students to complete the requirements that it imposes on them. For instance, I had to borrow PA equipment and enlist the help of a live sound engineer in order to complete my senior recital, even though you would think this is something the school would help you out with.

It took me over two months after I had completed all my graduation requirements to actually have my graduation application processed so I could get my degree, due to changes in staff (the school's student development office seems to have an unusually high turnover rate lately…) and left me with the impression that this school is very unorganized and unprofessional.

The majority of my degree requirements (i.e. 2 years of classical guitar training) had absolutely nothing to do with my chosen degree (contemporary music) and none of the faculty had any real life experience.

Interestingly, BECOMING a student there was a very easy process and people were very helpful and acclimating in that regard - which leads me to believe that the school is more interested in enrolling students and taking their money / getting them in debt than actually providing them with the education that they came for or vesting an interest in their future.
