It's ridiculously easy to get into, it's really disorganized and i've come to notice alot of people who are there to be a part of the "art scene". I'm part of the small illustration program but i've heard with the huge size of the film program it's incredibly difficult to be noticed. most of the teachers i've had so far have been pretty good. easy to talk to, pretty knowledgeable in their field. only some of the classes have actually provided challenges. the upside to the school is something they push alot which is networking. the school itself might not help you get that far but knowing alot of people in various fields just might. overall, it's really a school that you have to put alot of yourself into to get a decent amount out of. you can slack and skim by alright, or you work hard and get a decent education out of the place. oh, and as for the social scene, i've met a decent amount of friendly people here. plus it is smack dab in downtown chicago so it's pretty easy to find fun stuff to do. |
