I am a Regional Admission Counselor as a second career. I have been in this position for the past three years.

I was in the computer industry for most of my first career and, as a math major, I totally used my major throughout in terms of the technical aspects of my jobs. I also used extensively the community leadership experience from my undergrad 4 years to compete for management positions.

I recommend that students evaluate not only the academics of their college but also the opportunities they have for gaining leadership in the campus activities. They should also evaluate the student and faculty community as a whole to make sure they fit in.
