Elizabethtown College has some things going for it: the faculty on the whole seem very knowledgeable and have generally been helpful and friendly toward individual students, the dining services are usually above average and put in a lot of effort to keep the students satisfied, and it has quite a few decent extracurriculars such as academic clubs and athletics. Unfortunately, the attitudes of the students are this college's major detriment. The social life on campus is nearly nonexistent and parallels that of high school; it is basically centered around tightly-knit cliques and athletic groups. Quite a few of the male students (particularly the athletes) behave like a pack of jungle monkeys who have not matured mentally past the eighth grade all while conducting themselves as if they are God's gift to the college, while some of the girls act like spoiled drama queens and refrain from interacting with anyone outside of their immediate cliques. Consider yourself warned: if you are not into athletics or are not the type that constantly kisses up to other students, you will find the social life here even more pathetic than your average high school. |
