Statistical Analyzer:

After transferring from another state university after my freshman year, I have been a Biology/Pre-Med student at Mercer University for two years now. I feel that the University is wonderful and the teachers are very helpful. You get the opportunity to form very close relationships to your professors that are very hard to find at other larger institutions. However, before applying to this University, one must consider just how much they are willing to work. The biology/pre-med program at this school is incredibly difficult and VERY competitive. No exaggeration whatsoever. The teachers here expect nothing but the best. If you are not willing to pull all-nighters often or do not take well to frequent stress, I suggest that you do not attempt this major here. If you are hardworking and have the desire to be challenged, on the other hand, you will get your money's worth. "Survival of the fittest" takes on a whole new meaning with this major. I took science classes at a state university my freshman year and practically floated through - - - At Mercer, it was a completely different story. I have done well here only with a large amount of sacrifice and a nothing-but-school lifestyle. The academics here are incomparable to those of state universities.
