Many of the classes will give almost only "B" grades or slightly lower, with very few "A"s. Many of the science classes are designed to "weed out" students, yet I don't know of anyone who is doing well in the sciences. Chemistry is especially awful, with lectures largely being the teachers going over problems. When I say this, however, I mean that the teachers write out how they would do the problems on the board, with little explanation as to how they got the final answer. The key is to copy down EVERYTHING written on the board, and then to figure out the steps that they took. The social life at Marquette is great, but there is little to do on campus on weekends. Not being much of a party girl, I find that I am often forced to find my own way to have fun with my friends on the weekend, since Marquette provides so little. Fortunately, Milwaukee is a big city, and there are often events taking place in the city. All in all, I would not return here if I had the choice to redo the last couple years of my life. |
