MCPHS is not the best social scene. The truth is that regardless of which college a person chooses to attend, he or she is going to the college to earn a degree and prepare for their future careers. On the other hand, friendships and the college experience are equally important. MCPHS is known for being really small, not having a sports team, having arrogant professors…etc. but then again every college will have positive aspects and negative aspects about them. MCPHS offers education that a student must work very hard to achieve. I have never studied so hard in my life, but after a year of college I can truly say I have gained so much knowledge. There are some great professors at MCPHS, and there are some not so great professors. Once again, this is the case for every college regardless of it's size. In one of the questions above it asked whether I would attend a different University if I had the chance, and my answer was yes. Being a student who spends a total of three hours on a train per day, I would certainly transfer to somewhere closer if I could (something I should have put more thought into prior to attending the school). I feel that if a student will be commuting for that long, then they will never truly feel that college experience. The college experience is the one thing that I feel I have really missed out on. So my advice would be, think about whether or not commuting will be hard on you (which almost everyone does since there is very little dorm space). Consider whether you are willing to attend a small college will almost no social scene. Consider the fact that you will be paying a lot of money to a school whose financial aid office is very rude and cares little of whether you have the money to pay. Overall, MCPHS is about the education; if that suits you I recommend MCPHS..if you feel like you will be miserable in a small schoool like MCPHS..don't waste your time or your money. Good luck! |
