The longer I stayed the more my opinion dropped. UW is good if you are very outgoing and are willing to bust your balls for good grades. Nearly every major is competitive and all classes are graded on a curve. This led me to feel like I often understood the material quite well while still getting a crappy grade in the class. This competitiveness led me to denial of admission into multiple majors. The worst part is that since UW is so big often people getting into something like the business program will have no experience or personal communication skills yet they look good on paper while people who could really do excellent work in the real world but do not have the best grades get denied. Seattle is pretty cool but crime in the U-District is ridiculous. There are stabbings/shootings almost every other night. Overall if you want to suck dick for a good grade go here. I would say about half of the professors are really excellent teachers while the others are arrogant assholes who depend on foreign TA's to teach the material. |
