There are a good number of people from the north. There is a lot of work to do, but if you do it, and spend time on it, you can do well. Greek life is big but I have friends that are both in sororities and independent. I know that many people could not rush sororities because of their GPA from first semester. Be careful of that. I am in a sorority and love it. People typically end up where they should be. Guys who are not in fraternities can have a hard time finding something to do if they do not have friends in fraternities. If you are not in a fraternity and do not know brothers in any, it is hard to get in to parties. Girls have it much easier. Overall, a lot of work but a lot of fun. When it is nice out, there is always something going on at a fraternity during the day—crawfish boil, tailgate, etc. Girls wear dresses and go with dates to the football games first semester and freshmen run across the football field in front of a huge crowd at the first football game. There is always something going on at night—Thursday is clubs downtown and fridays and saturdays (for Freshmen and Sophomores at least) are frats. Go to Vanderbilt! |
