Barnard is a good school and I'm not sure what school would have really been a better fit. However, I would have enjoyed it more if I went in with a more open mind. A lot of social life here is through student groups and once cliques are formed, its hard to meet new people. I found it hard to meet new people without forcing myself to join organizations I wouldnt have joined otherwise. So come to Barnard, but (and this is true of cc as well) be prepared to work harder on the social front, since people have no real ties to the school (life is more nyc-based and campus can be pretty deserted on weekends). Sometimes I regret not going to a more enclosed, collegy school. But trust me, you will never be bored in nyc… |
