If you plan to attend Hofstra, no matter where you are from, bring a car! I feel obligated to post this for the benefit of incoming freshman. This past year I was incoming, and being from California thought it unnecessary to bring a car all the way to New York, a place with great public transit. I was unfortunately very wrong, my first semester here was miserable. It is necessary to have a car to go to the grocery store, from class to class (in freezing temperatures), to get something to eat and so much more. What is more getting a ride from one of the other students with a car (which may seem like everyone) is not an easy task. Everyone is always going a different direction and if you do find a ride you may be made to feel like a huge inconvenience. If I can offer you any advice it is to BRING A CAR. Hofstra is a great place and after I got my car here I became a lot happier; everything is wonderful now! |
