The faculty is amazing here. It seems that no matter what department I take classes in, the faculty maintains a consistently high standard of approachability. I have never encountered a professor who was unwilling to meet with me outside of class time about any concerns I may have had. They generally appreciate hard work and recognize students' achievements, or help them in areas where they may be lacking. There are a few bad seeds here and there, of course, but overall, I have been very satisfied by the level of professionalism by the faculty here. The work here is a good challenge but not overwhelming; it's a nice, steady middle.

Unfortunately, I do not have the same kind of glowing reviews for social life and the student body. Don't let anyone convince you that the surrounding city of Canton is chock full of things to do, because it definitely isn't. Basically, there's a movie theater, a couple of cheap restaurants, and a grocery store. As a person who refrains from drinking alcohol, I am not a resource for information on the local bar scene, but I hear from friends that it gets old pretty quickly. There's usually an on-campus party going on somewhere if you ever feel like going to one, but again, things like this get old pretty quickly. However, if you happen to prefer spending your weekends away from alcohol, you'll have a much harder time finding something to do. An on-campus entertainment organization hosts movies pretty often, and there are occasional events held by student clubs. Weekends tend to be on the boring side. On a more positive note, the campus is very peaceful and the buildings are, for the most part, gorgeous.

The students here are decent. They're usually approachable, but I can't deny that most give off an air of superiority around here, particularly the legacy kids I've come in contact with. As a friend of mine from another college observed when she was visiting, "The people here tend to look -through- you, not -at- you." There is a weird mix of liberals and conservatives, open-mindedness and closed-mindedness here. There are lots of material girls, and lots of the nature-loving hippie type. If you don't fit into the typical prepster or hipster mold that tends to be the norm around here, you'll find your niche eventually… it'll just be a much smaller, more misunderstood niche. The alumni are, for the most part, pretty awesome and love to talk to current students, if you should ever come into contact with any.
