First, and most important, I really like my class mates. They are overall bright, and very friendly, and it is easy to make friends. I also take advantage of Drew's location. I am from the west coast and I wanted a small school with easy access to a large city, and it only takes me 30 minutes by car to reach the bright lights of Manhattan. Drew has outstanding off-campus programs in Manhattan and around the world. I was concerned that many Drew students would go home for the weekends, but that has not been my experience at all. Many students remain on campus and my pals and I always have something to do, and we can take off to New York for the night if we want to. Parties on campus tend to be smaller parties (10-20 people) but large parties do occur. The faculty is excellent and easily accessible. The campus is beautiful. Madison is a wealthy, safe suburb with not much to do but there are plenty of shops and restaurants within a ten minute walk. My only gripe is the University Center, which is way outdated, but they are planning to build a new one in the next few years. The dorms range from average to plush (a new dorm is almost complete). Athletics have a large following at Drew but it does not consume the school like other colleges. The athletic facilities are top notch, so are Drew's art and music facilities. |
