The academic experience I had here was more indulgent than it was challenging or practical, and my social experience was genuinely abysmal. The kids who aren't snorting coke and engaging in drunken orgies are lonely, unhappy and disconnected. It is uncool to actually like Bennington. The blase hipster atmosphere only helps the underachieving pseudo-intellectual drug culture to thrive. Social hostility extends beyond high school drama and enters a dangerous realm rife with prozac and property damage. Oh, and chances are your professor won't have a Masters. I feel like I've entered the Bermuda triangle of dodgeball targets, and I am in the process of applying for transfer. It's easy to make generalizations about the campus population since it is comprised of 500 people, which is as stifling as it sounds. Please look elsewhere, for your mental health. |
