Pace University was not at all my top choice school, but I came here with a positive outlook. Pace gave me way more money than the other schools that I applied to, so it made the most sense for me to pursue my undergraduate degree here.

I have known from the start that college is what you make it, and I have kept that in mind since I arrived here.

What I have found is that Pace students, faculty and facilities are all lacking in one way or another. Students are dissinterested in learning, look for any reason to skip class, and basically are going to this school to get a degree, not to actually get an education.

Students are also incredibly pretentious, clique-y and all too concerned with what they're going to wear to Hooks and Ladders (a super seedy bar that doesn't ID, teeming with creepy old men. low standards, here.)

Professors are knowledgeable, but sometimes unhelpful. Many do not have offices, and therefore do not have office hours. Recently, the director of the Language Lab quit, and instead of replacing them, Pace simply shut the Language Lab down altogether.

Pace boasts 'top notch' security, and claims to offer an escort service between all of the dorms and the school. "All you have to do," they say, "is call security and ask for an escort to come." However, each time I have called, I have been told that I am "calling the wrong person", and I have been left to walk home in the dark, alone.

The food is beyond terrible. There is never any variety offered. Although the main cafeteria is open late, after about 8pm all of the food is gone and nothing new is brought out.

I have found that security in my dorm is terrible. There are constantly random people coming in and out for no apparent reason. A few days ago I watched the woman who works in the locksmith shop next door go into the building and come out a few minutes later. What could she possibly need to do in my dorm? Security is too lax, and often leave their posts. I once found a security guard playing a game of pool with a student in the lounge.

For the price that this school charges, the quality of the education should be brought up a notch.

I'm transferring asap.
