They're competent, easy to listen to, and not only have a clear passion and understanding in what they study, it's easy to tell that they care about getting to know their students and helping them learn. Very few have been problematic, and the ones that are usually work out if you just talk with them… which is usually very easy to do. The students are easy to work with and usually try to be open and friendly. You'll always get a few reckless drunks due to the influence of alcohol and Greek life (which they're starting to crack down on a bit harder this year), but if you know how to deal with that, you're pretty well set. Just join activities that interest you and you're guaranteed to make at least a few connections… with the best part being the fact that nearly everyone will be less than a mile away from one another.Oh, and Peoria's what you make of it. It's not the best city, but it grows on you, and it becomes a bit more enjoyable once you have a car. Night-life could be better, but there are some perks. |
