The faculty in my department was fine, and the facilities were conducive to learning, but I felt as though every semester I was shoved into two or more classes I did not need by my professors just so they could have a larger class. This delayed my completion. The surrounding city is dismal, and beyond that it just gets worse. The highlight of a student's week is going somewhere other than Cleveland. The campus floods regularly during heavy rains. Overall, the atmosphere will wear on you and eventually lead to a state of minor depressive disorder. If you are a homebody that doesn't require a change of scenery ever now and then, it might be for you. If you are the type that relaxes by going into town on Saturday and catching a basketball game, movie, or playing a bit of laser tag with some friends, then this college will be the bane of your existence. Other than the ancient cinema with the fungus-covered floor, none of those things can be found with an hour drive of Cleveland. Just know whether or not the environment will be good for your personality type before you go. |
