As a FORMER UNCC student, and now a junior college student, anyone that is looking into this school let me tell you the three best things to look into while searching for a college. Make sure the school most importantly has good academics (you are paying a lot of money for an education), has a good student atmosphere, and has good sport teams. These 3 points are what makes college what it is. UNCC has none of these 3. The professors are terrible, they give no work and dont take attendance but they base their final grades on like 3 tests. I am convinced that they will accept anyone into this school, there are so many people that go there who barely made it out of high school and they treat it as a community college because they are all commuters. Therefore the student population is a joke. About 95% of the people at orientation had high school friends with them. Another thing that makes UNCC even worse than a community college is that a good amount of people are in 3 or 4 of your classes. It felt like middle school, switching classes with the same people. The biggest joke though is the signs they have all over campus and in the dorms saying "UNCC facts, 77% of UNCC students dont drink when they go out." When I first saw that sign i didnt know if i wanted to cry or just beat the shit out of the next person i saw b/c i was so pissed off. (The next kid I saw was Brian Carnes who shortly after got caught sucking a fat one in the mens bathroom) Finally the school sports are horrible. They dont even have a football team and the basketball arena is always less than half full, it's horrible and there is nothing to do. I was always bored and because of this i tried so hard in school but it was impossible to get good grades b/c the professors were such assholes. (My GPA at UNCC 2.75 in 1 semester, after 2 semesters in a junior college its a 3.6) Im just stating that there is no good reason to go to this school. I read some other posts, anyone looking into going here should read all the negative ones if you want a better idea of this school.
