I love Cottey, and I still miss it. As an 18-year-old living far from home for the first time ever it was extremely comforting to be greeted by name the second I walked in the door. At Cottey the students live in suites—several bedrooms around a common living room area, a bathroom and a kitchen. My suitemates were instant family and kept me from becoming homesick. I went back about a year ago for a reunion and I was sad when I had to leave again. There are so many great things about Cottey that I can't even think of them all, so I'll just list what comes to mind.

  • great food
  • strong sense of school community
  • caring, highly educated faculty
  • small class size
  • second year trip to Europe (paid for by the school—my year we went to Paris)
  • gorgeous campus
  • large endowment (students' needs and well-being never suffer because of lack of funding)
  • tons of opportunities to get involved
  • But don't take my word for it; go check it out for yourself and see if you fall in love with it like I did.
