I'm a freshman at SUNY purchase and i love it. of course, i'm not in the performing or visual arts programs, which the school is well known for...but instead in the liberal arts program which i think is overlooked. the journalism department has really great people working to try and help students develop as writers...the same with the other departments, the professors i've had (except one) have been intelligent and exceeded my expectations, especially for a school that focuses more on the arts. being able to be friendly with people in film, art and dancing programs really helps too...generally it's an awesome place. i might transfer after 2 years, not because i don't like the school ( i love it) but just because it doesn't have the best program for journalism compared to some other ny schools...or i might just stick it out and go to law/grad school, because you really do get your moneysworth here, especially if you're an in-state student. and the people i've met are more than amazing!
