I'm a freshman at CCNY, and if you're interested in this school, I highly recommend you read this review. First off the school is very visually beautiful, when I first saw it I fell in love with it. It has the neo-gothic look and feel and is great to look at. The buildings are really antique like inside, at times creepy. The most modern building is the NAC building or the North Academic Center. At times this building can feel like a prison when trying to find classrooms, however everyone has classes in this building. The school isn't as bad as most say. There are a lot of minorities, and the school is commuter. They do have dorms though, called the towers. They are located not too far from the school. Virtually a 5 minute walk. If you dorm, you will pay a hell of a price, they're not cheap, a shared bedroom is $830, a private room is about $1,000 a month. Dorming does however allow you to meet new ppl and friends from other places. Other cuny students can dorm here as well but City College students get priority. Some people get upset that the towers is a separate entity in itself. The bill is not attached to your tuition bill, and they don't even give bills matter of fact. Anyways the school itself is good. My first semester the classes were pretty easy. I guess they will get challenging as the semesters go on. The worst part is the surrounding areas. If you want to live in the glamorous nyc don't come here. It's located in Harlem, with lots of bums and annoying sales people. However 125th street is very convienent if you live in the dorms, They have a nice array of stores to run errands. Anyway if you really wanna find out more take a tour and see for yourself.
