They offer both accelerated classes, which are only 5 and one half weeks long, as well as the traditional 9 week courses. Be prepared for fast paced learning if you choose to take an accelerated class, if you miss an assignment, or are unclear as to the instructors directions it could cost you your grade. The faculty was very approachable, I only had two professors who were arrogant, but that is to be expected at any university. The cost of tuition is high, but the options and resources available help balance this out. Most of the classes require you to do research, and write papers based on different scenarios that could happen in the workplace. You should be a self motivated student, no one is here to hold your hand and make sure you finish your assignments. One of the pluses though, is the availability of the faculty. If you do need clarification, the instructors are available via email and phone if you need a more immediate response. The over all experience has been great, a little stressful at times when trying to balance work and school, but still manageable. I would suggest you be honest with yourself, if you are not a self motivated individual, and lack the drive to stay on task, then this school is not for you. The tools are there for you to be successful, you just need the drive and determination to get things done. As with any university, you get out of your experience what you put in. One of the differences would be in the papers you submit. Unlike other universities, you are required to do a lot of research based writing, which is checked for "originality" which means you must cite your resources. This means no cutting and pasting information and calling it your own, that is plagiarism and will result in an "F" in the course and possible expulsion from the school. This in my opinion is great as it forces the students to be honest with their postings and greatly reduces the amount of cheating that takes place on any university campus. I hope this information was helpful! |
