It's very hard for a lot of students to get through freshman year down here, so I understand why there might be a lot of disgruntled negative reviewers out there, but the college experience at SIUC is well worth the money and time. I am an english major and felt incredibly satisfied and sufficiently challenged (but not too challenged in my classes). I was also able to take advantage of undergraduate assistantship positions which allowed me to do work with what I was studying and I got paid for it.The student body here is incredibly friendly and all faculty I've dealt with have been helpful, accessible, and nice. I wasn't the best student in high school and I pretty much came to SIUC because it was the only school that would accept me. Now I feel like I couldn't have picked a better school. SIUC has motivated me so much that I'm now a straight A student and I'm definitely headed for graduate school in the fall (my wonderful professors guided me through the admission process and I've already received acceptances from two schools!).SIUC is a wonderful place to attend school if you're looking to get involved and learn a lot. |
