For me, the people were the best part of my experience there. The surrounding city (Beaver Falls) is by far the worst city EVER. There is literally nothing to do. For close fun, going to Wal-mart (10 min) is probably the most exciting thing you can do. Downtown Beaver Falls is scary and Geneva will tell you to NEVER go walking around alone, day or night. Being on campus itself I felt pretty safe because the majority of the students were on campus doing nothing right along side of you. Parties were hard to find and you have to get lucky because most people that you run into, if they do party, won't tell you upfront because there is quite a bit of judgement so people keep it to themselves. This part of PA (pittsburgh area) is cold all the time and i think i saw the sun come out maybe 10 times. It can get really depressing. You have to make friends quick because there is a lot of cliquey-ness… but everyone is really nice. I never came in contact with anyone I truly did not like. Everyone knows each other, but not everyone hangs out with each other. The student-life administration put together a lot of nice social functions that were fun.Overall I feel positive about the school but I would not return. When I came back from winter break all of my friends had different schedules and we never hung out with each other as much so it got pretty depressing because I LITERALLY had nothing to do, ever. Personally, I need more a social life than what i got at Geneva. |
