Most of the students stick to their cliques and aren't very friendly. Also many students seem more concerned with drinking/partying/having sex as much as is humanly possible rather than furthering their education. I get it, it's college you want to let loose, break away from your parents and have fun but you know what? You're not in high school anymore. I wish everyone here would grow up a little bit, drinking to get drunk doesn't make you hot sh*t. The faculty are actually nice and somewhat helpful when you need them. Of course there are those professors who do as little work as possible and avoid you at all costs but no matter where you go those people somehow slip through the cracks. Dorms are mostly rundown except for the newly built Dixon hall which is actually really nice and I think they may be making renovations to one of the other residents halls next year.Classes are average in size and the classrooms themselves are a little old looking except for the Academic Forum which is really nice.Food is disgusting and morbidly overpriced. I really wish they wouldn't force students to buy meal plans if they're not even going to eat the food.Like others mentions you really need a car if you want to go anywhere because there's nothing to do on campus unless getting drunk/high is your idea of fun. I go home pretty much every weekend and I live 2 hours away so that says something.Academically the classes are easy and not much work is required, most professors in the English department only expect 2 essays a semester and in class midterms/finals usually essay tests. And mind you this is the ENGLISH department. I wish I was challenged a bit more but can't really afford to go elsewhere so if you can I would recommend that you do. |
