A recurring problem with the lower level courses is Adjuncts, people with no experience teaching and the students end up being guinea pigs. In order to grow they practically let everyone in, there were several kids in my class who could not read (I'm dead serious). In Poly Sci, small classroom sizes are not a good thing, due to the fact that certain classes are only offered once a semester so if you don't get in then you have to wait until the next year, which prolonged my stay at FGCU. The university has a higher percentage of female students then male so for the guys it's a good thing. Greek Life is growing but they don't have any Frat/Sorority houses (don't expect them too anytime soon). FGCU's Women Athletics are impressive, but the Men sports are a complete joke. Housing is another major issue, if you want to live off campus there is College Club & Coastal Village (neither are very desirable). Ft. Myers is full of gated communities and elderly people from up north so it's not much of a college town. I could go on forever, but let me put it frank, DO NOT GIVE THIS UNIVERSITY YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY, send your kids to a real school not to a glorified community college. |
