The campus is planted with many large trees which are nice to look at, and the people at Cornell are friendly for the most part. These are the few good qualities that Cornell has to offer to it's students. The food service at Cornell is atrocious, and it is inexcusable for any higher educational institution to provide their students with such horrendous meal options. The school is run by an arrogant administration who do not seem to care in the slightest for the well being of the college's students. Students at Cornell often feel secluded, and many refer to it as a "boarding school" seeing as the neighboring town is still living 50 years in the past. Aside from the occasional visiting professors, the full time professors at Cornell are average. The academics at Cornell are mediocre at best, and the One-Course-at-a-Time system puts stress on many students who are taking difficult courses such as microeconomics, given the short class length of under a month. Cornell's campus safety officers are similar to your typical mall rent-a-cops who take their otherwise simple occupation much to seriously. I have gotten several outrageous parking tickets at Cornell: for parking with the front of my car "overlapping" the grass, and for parking in a parking space with my tires touching the lines. The professors at Cornell are very helpful and respectful to their students, whereas the administration seems completely set on maximizing the institutions profits. I do not recommend this school to anyone currently, but I believe that this school does have potential if some SERIOUS changes were to be made, changes that I do do not see happening within the next century. |
