There is a pretty good review on page 1. Mine is as follows, the UofA as a school in the SEC has about half the students as the other SEC schools and because of the Wal-Mart family about twice the endowment. This makes it a very decent public school, which is a tier #1 ranked #125 by U.S. News and still continously improving.

Of course school isn't just all about academics, a big part of which is social life and also the vibe and school spirit. The school is very well organized and there is a football team, albeit beautiful stadium but not too good of a team. Fayetteville although has grown rapidly isn't exactly a city, so the there is a small-town feel. It is very safe and people are for the most part either very friendly and hospitable or timid and keep to themselves. There is definetly a hippie and yuppie vibe to be felt in the town, at the same time there is a Missouri/Oklahoma confluence in the region. It is hard to pinpoint, rather a unique place is what it is. The main difference I would say in comparison to the other SEC schools is that UofA really lacks in diversity. Diversity in colors may be one thing, but it seems as if many of the student body comes from the same high school, even if they are all the way from Dallas, TX many of them even knew each other before coming to campus. And although Fayetteville may be very progressive for Arkansas and a fast-growing region, with many transplants from Texas and even California, it still does hold a small town mentality, in short if you ever try and tell people about your travels to Darfur and East Timor to save the world, some may look at you and say huh?

Although Dickson st. is where it's at and right next to campus. It's only about 3 blocks long really and due to the policy of gentrification, it's as a friend who grew up in Fayetteville once said, it now looks like an episode of Sex and the City gone bad. Outside of Fayetteville, there's a lot to do outdoors wise, the Ozarks are splendid, but if you come here be prepared to drive on the holidays as there isn't really a city nearby. In sum I would say it's good school, great place to study. If you can get into a better SEC school I would suggest it, but if this is close to home, you might fit right in.
