When you first come you are taken in by the beautiful oaks and architecture of the historic buildings. Under the surface, a lot of these buildings are crumbling, and even the newer dorms are in constant need of repair. Since it's a research institution, professors often get too caught up in that and teaching comes second. Greek life here is very competitive. People go out 5 nights a week and the weekend starts on Tuesday. We all proudly claim that sororities here are not catty like at other southern schools, but honestly I feel like it's probably just as bad. I love my sorority, sisters, and all the friends I have here, but when it comes down to it, I don't know if it will be worth the 50k I will have racked up in loans. |
