Because there are no "grades" slackers are not necessarily targeted for below-par performance. However, the small class size and the high-level of engagement of the other students often has the effect of "shaming" low performers into a greater level of integration with the work. If you're interested in being a true creator of the world around you rather than merely an obligated participant, AULA is the place for you. One negative aspect of AULA is the "leftist" spirit of the faculty and students. Although I personally identify more strongly with the "left" than the "right" I found the atmosphere at Antioch to be a bit extreme in its liberal ideology and slightly intolerant or dismissive of opposing views. That being said, AULA greatly surpassed the education I received at other universities I have attended. |
