I live about 2 hours away from home, but I honestly never go home. I love it here and I wouldn't want to waste a weekend. The people here are so friendly and very approachable. I made friends instantly, and I now call them my best friends. I know people that have transferred because they didn't give LMU enough time, and now they want to come back. It is definitely a good place to be. The more you put into your education and social life here, the more you will get out of going to a school like LMU. Although it is small and athletics are not advertised, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Greek life is very popular and the chapters here are very diverse. Even if you can't imagine yourself in that kind of scene, you should still give it a shot. The sororities and fraternities respect eachother here, so it never feels like a competition. Service orgs are also very popular and selective when it comes to admission. For the most part, the teachers are truly concerned with your progress in their class and will make themselves available for extra help if needed. There is also free tutoring available through departments and through the school as well. Although some classes are very challenging, there is no reason why one would fail a class, due to all the extra help. LMU makes sure you get at least 5 classes in a semester to be considered a full time student. They WANT you to graduate on time. |
