Taliesin is an amazing program for the motivated self-learner. It's based on an alternative educational philosophy that makes it quite challenging for those who've been raised in a traditional system, but all the more rewarding for those who desire to have a hand in their own education. Don't expect to be force-fed anything, including any dogmatic Wrightian ideas. The school is both empowered and tethered by it's connection to Frank Lloyd Wright, but is not directed at a nostalgic interpretation of times past. If you're thrilled with Wright's work, and also critical… if you know what you want to learn and from whom… if you desire to live and work towards something different than the societal norm… this program might be for you. It isn't for everyone, but contact and visit if you're interested to see if you connect with the spaces, places, ideas and people that make up this incredible community. |
