For the post-bac program, the tuition is very affordable but it's not really worth it. The college is small but it is made up of all people from the area and if you are not from the area then you get to live in Newark- awesome!! It is very homogeneous in terms of race- it seems to be about 90% African American just looking around on campus. The classes are small, but don't expect anyone in your class to start up the intelligent conversation because there will be none. Also, don't expect to receive any type of support from the "student services." The people here do not treat you with respect or like you are a person. It is sad for such a small college. If you ever go through any type of traumatic situation or are a victim of a crime, you will be spoken to like you did something wrong and are wasting their time with your complaints. I was told after I got sexually harassed and stalked by a classmate that I should just keep being in the same class with him for 2 years because "we told him to stop talking to you and he said he would." After I was told this, I started crying. I was told that it is not policy to deal with people when they are upset. These are the same people that on the website say they are there to nurture and support students, apparently by giving them the advice "I see people I don't like all the time and I just deal with it. Why can't you be strong?" Thank you Bloomfield College. |
