Statistical Analyzer:

STCC is a community college, and you get what you pay for. Compared with a lot of community colleges, STCC is great. I went here for two years as part of a high-school dual-enrollment program, and I have loved (almost) every minute of it. Most of my professors have been very helpful and friendly, and they always do their best to help students. Others (and I'm a liberal arts student planning to transfer, so a lot of my classes have been gen. eds, which are usually lower-quality no matter where you go) are only interested in pushing their own agendas or have been so beaten down by stupid questions it's like they've given up.

STCC has an older student base, so most of the students are fairly serious and well-meaning. If you're going into a technical program, go to STCC, because they are very well-respected. And even if you're taking just general classes, STCC is much better than say, HCC, which has a younger student base.

It's hard to make friends, though most students are very down-to-earth and friendly. For people who want technical degrees, or for people who want to get a solid base before transferring to a four-year school, I would recommend STCC in a heartbeat.
