Let us be honest - the people that blast Emory for not meeting their personal

social acceptability level
are fucking morons. Social circles are something you make - they aren't handed down to you. Go find some people that share similarities with you… if you can't do that, don't expect that you WOULD have at another institution.

From an academic standpoint, Emory BBA is strong for ATL, but not for anywhere else. Good luck getting a NY bulge job - except for the lucky few at the top. What can I say… I had my opportunities but didn't execute during interviews. The job offers I had were pretty strong especially for ATL area. If you're in banking/consulting, Emory BBA can net you 55-60k first year salary.

Professors are friendly. Class sizes are small (smallest class I had was 8 students). Recruiting while not great, is adequate. Overall money well spent.

There is one comment on this comment board from a person that supervises or manages Emory, GT and KSA graduates, but find that GT/Emory grads fare no better than KSA graduates. Lets be fucking honest; first off, a 3.2 is a pretty shitty GPA. Grad school? A 3.2 will get you into some low-level public school program - it probably won't even get you into UGA JD/MBA. I would assume most Emory undergrads are trying to do a little better than that. Second, the fact that your company hires KSA students in addition to Emory/GT must mean that your company isn't very competitive in terms of first year associate/analyst opportunities. Most GT/Emory BBAs are looking for a little better opportunity than what is typically available for KSA students. Is this being snobby? Not purposely, but it is just necessary to state the facts. Top 25% of Emory BBA will go Big 4, IB or Consulting. The median will get solid corporate rotational programs in the likes of GE/Siemens. These opportunities are typically not available to KSA students. Thus, it must be the case that your company hires the bottom decile of Emory grads and the top 10% of KSA; where the difference in candidates is OBVIOUSLY less than what you would see if you hired the "normal" Emory Grad.

Emory is what it is. I incurred substantial undergrad debt to attend this school. My parents are not rich. However, academic reputation and post-undergrad opportunities are better AT EMORY than ANY OTHER GA SCHOOL. Think I'm lying? The median BBA base salary for 2008 was $55,000. No other GA school can rival that number. Emory is ranked consistently in the top 20. Think this is a fluke? I can't change your personal opinion, but I would think your credibility or your ability to make objective decisions are incredibly pathetic if you think the rankings are a "fluke."

For all interested in Emory - do your research before you attend (if you do so). Come visit, lounge at Clairmont pool, sit in during a class, etc. Make your personal choice.
