I entered the CET program when it first started, I was sold on the idea that it is a combination of CIS and EET. What a bad mistake that was, the program went through a ton of changes and simply did not solidify a curriculum. The beginning of the program started out so so, it quickly took a bad turn when one of the programming professors left. The curriculum was C++ for CET, then changed to JAVA for only two semesters when they gave us a different professor. I ended up not understanding the purpose of the program when we started working on a web based project and to top it of, the professor teaching JAVA, taught Networking, Physics and several other classes. Despite the fact that the profesors appear friendly and helpful, the work was literally spoon fead to the students. Surprisingly the most challenging class I had was Professional Writing. Granted you get hands on experience on some hardware here and there but the majority of professors seemed just as disorganized as the students. Sometimes asking questions did not seem to register with the professors and you were left with a dud.

I have a couple of friends who took other programs such as CIS and Network Communications at Devry and had an opposite experience in terms of learning and the quality of it. I am left a graduate alumni who doesnt feel prep'ed for the market and even though I have a job now, it is not the job that I wanted to have. I didn't really get to explore myself through their program and in which direction I want to take my career. I am looking to go back to a better school for a grad degree in an undecided field. I need to get out of my IT Support job and into something much more interesting, perhaps a 9 to 5 type of job.
