It has a large amount of potential but is held back by the attitude shown toward its students. Do not come here if you want to experience the college life. Coming in as a freshman I felt and still feel like I am treated like I am in high school. For instance, there is a 10 o'clock curfew for the first month of college and females are only aloud in male rooms until 10 on weeknights and vise-versa, and violation of this results in getting a pink slip…just like high school, where you are punished with detention or something of the sort. We are told this is to help everyone meet people. How can one meet people if he is confined to a certain area? Classes are 50/50. Some professors are completely incompetent while others do a pretty good job of teaching. The best advice I can give is if you want to experience the independence of college and the ability to meet many and different kinds of people, in many social situations, this is not the place for you. |
