Some responses to all the negative comments:

  • - Actually, there is a lot to do, you just weren't looking too hard. Tucson has an amazing music/theater/art scene, tons of great food, lots of outdoor activities, etc. I'm sorry if there isn't a Six Flags on University Blvd.
  • - Yes, it is a large school. This is not high school or a small college. You need to be able to read rules/policies and figure out how to do things. The staff is usually pretty helpful. If no one has an answer to your question then you are barking up the wrong tree.
  • "too many Greeks; everyone drives a BMW" - I wasn't in a frat and drove a Schwinn. I had lots of friends in the same boat. If you live in a dorm freshman year you will meet a lot of greeks, but after that they tend to stick together. Find other friends.
  • - Then why did you come here? Did you think the school would have every course you could imagine or would invent new departments to suit your every whim? If you want to do X, then make sure the school has courses in X. Do some research.

    • I loved the UA, but it is not for everyone. It bugs me that people complain about a school when they were just too lazy to do the research about the school/city before they came here.
